Nice work a great app to teach reading.r gf

Sounds

Great app for young kinds, my 4 year old is enjoying and learning the tracing and sounds quickly.

Using it in school

This ap is being used in my daughters JK class. She seems to really enjoy it.

Awesome!

Awesome app to help support the Language curriculum at Montessori. Motivating and fun for my 4 year old!

Do NOT buy!

Worst app ever....After my 4 year old played with this for a while, I asked here some of the alphabet and she didnt know, instead she just made the sound and thought that was the letter!!!! Simple fix, make the app say the letter before saying the sound!!!! Deleted this app after I bought it.

Great if used properly

Awesome app for learning to read and write. My daughter really likes it. Note: this app is NOT for learning the alphabet or letter names. If thats what you want, look elsewhere. It is perfect for learning phonics though.

Like

One of the first and still one of the best. Great app!

Good for ESL, too.

I found the app useful for ESL students. I found the game useful to understand the sounds by repitition. I hope the developer create ESL version by addting pronunciation symbols and grouping the sounds accordingly. Furthermore, it would be even more helpful if we can choose and compare the similar and complicated sound to us by listening as many times as we want .

Great teaching tool!

I had my son learning a lit more easily with this, and I can only assume itll be great for teaching ESL kids how to read. Some of the word games arent long enough. One has 22 words, but one has only 6. Im hoping the developer can add more words to some groups. The other is the womens voice saying excellent is actually a little scary. It would be great if that were changed to well done or good job, as both of those sound far more friendly. Better yet would be cheering. Anyways, its still the best app for teaching more advanced phonics, and I look forward to any updates.

Off to a good start, but still needs work.

I teach ESL in Japan, so my problems may be a little different. For example r actually has two sounds . . . In the prepared position (red) and in the action or in play position (car). Also the n sound needs to be clearer, cant tell m from n. More repeats for sounds would also be a big help. Anyway the vowels name sounds and the in-word sounds need to be more (over) pronounced to help show the differences I sound. Dog (ah) and cat (æ). Anyway, it works better than some other phonic based programs Ive tried. Please, please, work on this for all of us teachers who need this helpful program.

Great application

My children learned phonics from this App a lot. Because its fun for children, they ask me to play this app all the time.

Love it!!

This app is great it is LITERALLY teaching my 2 year old how to read and write.

Way too buggy for $$$

Its critical to be consistent when teaching a child to read and sound out letters. App is far too buggy! It shows a wrong slides for its audio far too often for my liking. If app were only two or three dollars, Id be more willing to overlook. In this case, the high/premium app cost does not equate to a high/premium quality design and function. Look elsewhere for your spelling needs... In my case, I think a large Magna Doodle would have been a much better use of my hard-earned $$$.

Best! Deliver results!

Amazing results! One of the few apps found that truly produce results. Worth the time effort and $

Teaching my son his letter sounds

Weve been using this for a couple weeks and my 2.5 year old son still chooses it every morning and is learning! I am very pleased that it has correct letter sounds. I relate to the Montessori understanding of how children learn to read: first they recognize that words are made up of sounds (we did that without an app -- by playing I-spy), then realizing that those sounds are represented by written letters. This app works well for this. I really like how customizable it is, I modified all the settings to create what I wanted. Suggestions for improvements: Repeat the letter sound more often while they trace the letter. Remove the thumbs down frowns when they get it wrong, maybe a question face and a shrug or something, or nothing. Better graphics -- photos would be best. I turned off switching between groups of letters until they are mastered, however we cant get back the the first group that he already mastered and it would be nice if we could. Thank you for the nice app!

Grandkids love it !!!

A great way to keep them having fun & learning

Amazing app!

My students love this app. It is very educational for beginning readers!

Would give it 5 if

I use this app quite a bit with preschoolers. Most are very engaged, however; one addition I would make is the option for "letter tracing" only as I work with several kids who are not at the letter-sound identification level and therefore become frustrated and refuse to continue.

Very good

I really love this app. It very good for my son has a learning disability. I really enjoy the game and worth the price to download it.

Crashes
